: Use the Software. Do the flashcard drills to learn the vocabulary for Chapter Three. On the "Main Menu" screen and choose "Flashcard Tools." Then choose #1 in the flashcard learning modules and do the decks for Chapter Three.
Advance the level of difficulty in the flaxhcard learning modules as you learn the vocabulary.

: Use with Software, Chapter 3:1 "Reading With Block Letters" and Textbook, Chapter Three, Part 10 "Special Section for Practice Reading Block Letters.

The "script" letters you have learned are used for personal correspondence, lists and all forms of writing done by hand. (Your instructor probably uses the script for all white board work, for example.) However, all books, newspapers, most signs, and most printed media use the block forms of the letters that we are introducing in this chapter. Ads and bill boards often mix script and block letters, as is done in English. For the remainder of this textbook we will use the block letters for reading.

3.1.1 שׂימוּ לֵב Find the Contrasting Feature—

Watch for the contrasting feature that distinguishes two similar looking letters. For example ר and ד are different in the upper right corner of the letter, while ב and כ are have different lower right-hand corners. Focus on the letters below that are lined up with forms that could confuse you if you don't pay attention.
