Dear Mom and Dad,
In my last letter I wrote about our visit to Shabbat Square. The demonstration of the Haredim continued for a long time and the atmosphere was stormy.

This week we had thought to visit Rabin Square in Tel Aviv. We intended to go to the square on Saturday night but on account of the stormy weather the “gang” decided that it wasn’t worthwhile to go. It has been raining for three days and< it’s very unpleasant outside. (But it least there’s no snow like there is at your place!)

I was sorry that we weren’t able to go to the square. You probably know who Yitzhak Rabin was. You also know that he was killed at a (peace) rally that was held on November 4, 1995.

Before his death the was square was called “Kings of Israel Square.” After he was murdered they changed the name of the square to “Rabin Square” in memory of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. The square is very large. It is the main square of Tel Aviv.

It’s too bad we weren’t able to go because of the weather. But . . . this week we celebrated the holiday of Purim. And that was something special! In my next letter I’ll tell you everything. Now I must run. I have a class in a quarter of an hour.
