can be fun and intellectually stimulating. "The Key to Modern Hebrew"
provides interesting content and
guided learning experiences. Special attention is paid to problems
encountered by speakers of English as they begin learning Hebrew.
This textbook differs from most others in that it begins with texts that
use the past tense—immediately laying the foundation for an
understanding of how Hebrew verbs operate. Of course,
phrases required for classroom situations are provided in the present tense.
The textbook,
workbook, and accompanying software are designed to complement each other so that
students have "hands-on" practice in the use of the language, as well
as drills on the content of stories, dialogues and short readings in each chapter.
Exercises
accompanying each unit provide practice and skill testing to
further help the student learn to speak Hebrew, read Hebrew with comprehension,
listen with comprehension and compose in Hebrew. 
All textual materials include clickable audio which models correct pronunciation and also builds listening comprehension. Israeli culture is illustrated in pictures of Israeli life. The many pictures and drawings provide classroom opportunities for describing and talking in Hebrew. Navigation buttons to "YouTube" video clips introduce students to popular Israeli songs. The songs build an emotional bond with Hebrew and serve to expand vocabulary and enhance students' accent. A vocabulary list is linked to each song.

easily send the results of their work to their instructors.
The reports indicate which and how much of an exercise has been
completed, the amount of time spent and the student's score.
